Microsoft Photo event – Record attempt – biggest photo stitch of the World - May 24 2008, Amsterdam/the Netherlands
On May 24th 2008, 15 photographers took a boat trip along the canals of Amsterdam. We all came together at the ‘Rode Hoed’ in Amsterdam where photographers had the opportunity to get in touch with the latest products, demonstrations and news about photography by visiting booths and talking to representatives from Kodak, Canon, Olympus and ZOOM.nl who also sponsored this event together with Microsoft. The well known photographer Govert de Roos gave tips and supported the photographers on the boat while they took the pictures. 10.000 pictures were taken on the 11 km boat journey on a sunny day through the canals of Amsterdam. Although we did not manage to get in the Guinness book of World records with the biggest photo stitch, this event was a great experience for the photographers as well as for Microsoft. If you are interested in taking a look at the results of the activity, please visit http://www.photosynth.com and http://maps.live.com (click keizersgracht and amsterdam at search).
