FIRST ANNUAL NETHERLANDS MICROSOFT TECHDAYS ATTRACTS THOUSANDS

(July 25, 2011) The Hague, Netherlands

More than 1900 delegates attended Microsoft’s TechDays 2011, the largest and most influential Microsoft Netherlands event for software development and software architecture. Held at the World Forum in The Hague from April 26th to April 29th 2011, TechDays consisted of three separate streams. In addition to Microsoft’s popular DevDays (now in its fourteenth year) which focuses on developers, TechNet_Live presented events for IT professionals, and GeekNight presented events for anyone with a passion for technology.

TechDays 2011 was organized, in conjunction with the Microsoft Netherlands team, by Asentus Europe B.V., a Netherlands-based consulting firm specializing in technology channel marketing services.

When asked about the success of the event, Microsoft Netherlands sponsor commented, “Good organized event …” Another sponsor said, “You delivered and I thank you for this. Congratulations, team Asentus!”

All TechDays presenters are influential experts in their fields. Among the top speakers were:

  • Scott Hanselman: Currently a principal program manager with Microsoft. Previously, the chief architect at Corillian Corporation.
  • Rob Miles: Department of Computer Science at the University of Hull, United Kingdom. He is also a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional.
  • Ben Riga: Senior technical evangelist for Windows Phone 7 in Microsoft’s Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) group.
  • Ruben Sprujit: Technology officer at PQR. He has been awarded with the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), Citrix Technology Professional (CTP), and VMware vExpert.

About TechDays 2011:
TechDays 2011 combined DevDays, the biggest Microsoft event in the Netherlands for software development and software architecture, with TechNet_Live and GeekNight. It was held at World Forum Den Haag from April 26th to April 29th, 2011.

DevDays 2011 was attended by 1983 delegates, GeekNight 2011 by 900 delegates, and TechNet_Live 2011 by 831 delegates. Overall, TechDays2011 presented a total of 116 speakers and enjoyed the support of 41 sponsors.
